ALBANY — What started with coding in the fourth grade for Daniel Titus has turned into a website development, graphic design and computer repair business that has gained a growing clientele in the Albany area.

“It entails anything you need, from websites, to advertising to logos and business collateral,” Titus said.

Titus is the owner of DanielTitus.com, based at 312 W. Residence Ave. in downtown Albany.

He is described on the business’ website as a “big picture guy” who learns the needs of the client, the layout of their industry and designs what they need to tell their story. Kristen Stevens, the company’s graphic designer, is known as the “detail gal” who ensures all of the pieces of a website fit together.

Dustin White, the newest member of the team, takes care of computer repair, network support and information technology for small business and residential needs, a branch the business recently expanded into.

DanielTitus.com, in its mission to tell a client’s story, partners with marketers and photographers to help meet that client’s specific needs. Titus started strictly with website development and found himself pigeonholed. In 2015, he pursued a graphic design component.

He ran into Stevens on the street one day, and she started interning there a short time later. Last month, White joined the team that has worked with clients on a southwest Georgia, state, national and international level.

In Albany, these clients have included The Bread House, Albany Area Primary Health Care, Challenger League, Chehaw, Moorehead Law Firm, Albany Symphony Orchestra, All American Fun Park, Albany Urology, PT Gym, Drawdy Outdoor Brands, to name a few.

“(We can do) any size, any location,” Titus said. “That is the beauty of doing so much online.”

The business’ pricing structure depends on the clients’ needs. Some may need a full website, others may need a single logo.

“(The key) is to know the story and communicate it,” Stevens said.

The business operates by combining the artistic and technical sides of a project. Since this process involves getting to know their clients and what their needs are, the staff at DanielTitus.com has learned a lot about the world around them.

In one particular week, the company worked on projects for a church and an alcohol distributor.

“We have gotten to know all sorts of industries,” Titus said.

The business’ owner said his team can tell stories better than anyone else, while admitting that any of his competitors would say the same thing.

“In all honesty, (what) is something central to us is the storytelling,” he said.

DanielTitus.com is not meant to be one-stop-shop. Rather, it focuses on doing a few things well and partnering with other entities to complete a client’s needs. In addition to photographers and marketers, the list of subcontractors also includes videographers and printers.

Titus said that, zooming out, the purpose of his business is to glorify God. Zooming further in, it is acting as a cheerleader for Albany by helping businesses and organizations succeed through the best possible image.

“We do love Albany and love downtown,” Titus said. “We want to see Albany do well and look good. There are fantastic businesses in Albany, but they look terrible. We want them to look as good as they are.”

Heading into the future, the business’ expansion will involve building on IT services.

“We have not offered it until now, but we see a need,” Titus said.

Titus was able to start website design in the seventh grade. He got a job selling shoes, but still felt pulled toward web design. He worked for a printing company, where he started sweeping floors before getting to work with the printers and eventually doing web design.

He says he’s proud of his close-knot team.

“I have a good team that balances really, really well,” he said. “What I don’t catch, Kristen does and vice versa. I’m sure it will be that way for Dustin as well with IT.”

The business started in 2009, moved downtown in 2011 and settled into its current location in 2014. More information on DanielTitus.com can be found by calling (229) 234-0839, visiting www.danieltitus.com or emailing [email protected].
