Earth Day celebration planned at RiverQuarium
Flint RiverQuarium to host Earth Day activities

ALBANY — The Flint RiverQuarium will celebrate Earth Day on April 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the aquarium’s outdoor plaza.
The RiverQuarium, in partnership with the Southwest Georgia Master Gardeners Extension Volunteers, will bring together a variety of organizations, exhibits and activities that focus on the beauty of the natural world and what the community can do to help protect it. All Earth Day activities in the plaza are free. Regular admission rates apply for Flint RiverQuarium entrance.
The Earth Day celebration will include several scheduled activities and exhibitors, including:
— Farmer Fredo will discuss backyard gardening;
— The Southwest Georgia Master Gardeners will provide demonstrations including: the art of bonsai, squash seed planting for kids, camellia propagation by a recognized expert, a children’s scavenger hunt, and daylily and vegetable transplants for sale;
— Miss Albany and other title holders will be there to paint flower pots with guests;
— “Wildkratts: Wild Reptiles and Bees: Tales from the Hive” will play throughout the day for free in the Imagination Theater;
— Information tables will be on site for Monarchs across Georgia, the Audubon Society, and the SOWEGA Beekeepers;
— Live animals from Chehaw park and the RiverQuarium will be featured.
