MCLB-ALBANY — Marine Corps Logistics Base-Albany officials have announced plans to conduct a tornado drill at the base on Wednesday morning.

Officials said the drill will be conducted at 9 a.m. The installation’s mass notification and warning system will announce the start and end of the drill.

“As part of the drill, tornado sirens will be activated. Personnel in close proximity of the base around 9 a.m. Wednesday may hear tornado sirens and should be aware that this is only a drill being conducted by the installation,” officials from MCLB-Albany said in a news release.

The base issued the alert to make sure the community surrounding MCLB is aware that this activity will be a drill rather than an actual emergency.
