More arrests made in March 4 homicide in Albany
Albany police say they are still searching for two fugitives wanted on felony murder charges

ALBANY — The Albany Police Department has arrested two more suspects in the March 4 shooting death of John Lewis Jr., and a third man wanted on a felony murder charge was undergoing questioning Wednesday.
According to police officials, Eric “Booney” Davis, 20, and Markell Brown, 26, were being held in the Dougherty County Jail. Each has been charged with felony murder.
Vontravious Jones, 23, who Albany police said was wanted for felony murder, was picked up by APD’s gang unit Wednesday afternoon and was being held for questioning.
Jarod Hosley, 15, was the first suspect arrested in connection to the homicide. Hosley was arrested March 9 and charged with murder.
Meanwhile, investigators are continuing the search for two more suspects.
Lewis was shot around 1:37 p.m. March 4 near the intersection of Dervan Street and South Jackson Street. He died Sunday morning, according to Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler.
“His cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head,” Fowler said.
Albany Police Department robbery and homicide detectives on Wednesday were still trying to locate two more suspects, according to APD officials. APD officials said the two men, each wanted on a charge of felony murder, were:
— Jamariuos Wright, 24, who is described as being 6 feet 1 and weighing 245 pounds;
— David Luke, 26, who is 5 feet 6 and weighs 135 pounds.
