Two more hopefuls toss hats into ring in Lee County
Gail Drake enters crowded field for probate judge; Sandra Pressley-Fordham to face Reggie Rachals

LEESBURG — Two more people qualified to run for political office in Lee County on Wednesday.
Attorney Gail Drake became the fourth person to qualify for Probate Judge when she joined Jeffery Kirt Melanie Gahring and Miles O’Quinn in the crowded field.
The four are vying to replace outgoing Probate Judge John Wheaton who is not seeking reelection.
The Lee County’s Sheriff’s race took a twist when former deputy Sandra Pressley-Fordham qualified to run as an independent against incumbent Reggie Rachals.
As an independent, Pressley-Fordham needs the signatures of 938 registered Lee County voters to get her name on the ballot for November’s general election. The deadline for turning in those signatures is July 12.
Statewide qualifying for elected office ends Friday at noon.
