Leadership changes, popular treats remain same at bakery

ALBANY — Sweet dreams. That’s what the Cakery family creates for customers. Original, made-from-scratch confections are made every day to be added to the delicious selections available.
And now the “sweetest place on Earth” has a new home and owner.
Michelle Wagner, head baker of the Cakery family for many years, has “passed the cupcake” to family member Courtney Wagner, head baker for the next generation. The Cakery has a new, convenient location at 2206 Dawson Road, Suite E.
Michelle Wagner is still a treasured part of The Cakery team for now and is sharing her years of creativity and expertise with Courtney as long as needed. Patrons have been pleased to discover that Courtney Wagner and her team are still using time tested original Cakery recipes. In its new bright and easy-to-get-to location, the bakery continues to produce the same palate pleasing confections that its customers have enjoyed for many years.
Cakes, cookies, cupcakes, sticky buns, cream horns, chocolate turtles, and chocolate covered strawberries are all sweets to be enjoyed and shared. The Cakery has a variety of these treats available daily, with a varied selection of special items offered on holidays. Custom cookies can be made to add flavor and fun to any occasion.
Special confections mark many milestones in life. A wedding cake is a part of the wedding celebration that starts a new family. The birthdays of family members are not official without birthday cakes. Specialty cakes for graduations, engagements, wedding and baby showers, retirements and many other of life’s special days remain available at The Cakery upon request
On a recent Saturday visit (usually a slow and easy day), the business was bustling with activity. It was all hands on deck. The whole family chips in to help Courtney when they can. On this particular Saturday, everyone available was helping. The showroom was full of patrons ready to take home delicious treats.
The Cakery is definitely on the cusp of its deliciously sweet journey into a new generation of baking.
