Albany police respond to shooting on Avalon Avenue
Albany Police say 32-year-old victim stable

ALBANY — The Albany Police Department were investigating a shooting Monday afternoon reported on Avalon Avenue, officials from the Albany Police Department said.
Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the APD, said the incident happened at 1106 Avalon Ave., Apt B, on Monday around 3 p.m.
Witnesses told police the victim, identified as Russell Haynes, 32, and someone inside the duplex exchanged words prior to Haynes being shot once in the abdomen. Haynes was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital where he is in stable condition, Banks said.
The incident remained under investigation and no arrests were immediately made. Banks said updates would be provided when additional information becomes available for release.
