Death of man remains under investigation

ALBANY — The investigation into the discovery of a man found dead in East Albany on Saturday was continuing Monday.

The Albany Police Department responded to the Dunes Mobile Home Park at 1001 Dunes Ave. at 9:30 a.m. following a report by a resident that a man had been found dead outside, near Unit 51 of the mobile home park.

Phyllis Banks, an APD spokeswoman, said Sunday that the man had been identified as John Anthony Duke, 35. Investigators were continuing to work Monday to determine the circumstances leading to Duke’s death.

Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler said Monday that an autopsy was under way, and that a preliminary finding regarding Duke’s death was expected when the autopsy results were completed.
