Man wanted in Thornton Drive armed robbery, aggravated assault incident

ALBANY — The Albany Police Department Criminal Investigations Bureau is seeking the public’s assistance in locating someone who is thought to be connected to an aggravated assault and armed robbery incident reported in December.

Devin Covon Randle, 20, is wanted on charges of aggravated assault and armed robbery stemming from an investigation opened up on Dec. 19 at 201 Thornton Drive, police said.

The victim in the incident told police he was robbed while staying in Room 254 at Luxury Inn. He stated he was in the room asleep when a woman entered and took some of his personal property. Police said the woman took his silver and black cellphone, a phone charger, a brown leather jacket, cash and then left the room.

Police said the victim got up and went outside. That’s when the woman called him over to a 2006 Toyota Sienna in the parking lot and asked for a light. He stated when he walked up to the van, he saw his property in the back seat and stated he wouldn’t call the police if she and her boyfriend gave him his property back.

Police said the victim reported that, when he reached for his items, the boyfriend, Randle, pointed a handgun at him and then struck him above the left ear with it. The victim said he backed up, ran to the front office, told the owner and called the police.

Randle’s last known address is 1634 Pineview Drive, Apt. B, police said.
