ALBANY — Aggravated assaults were reported to the Albany Police Department on Friday and into the weekend, reports show. One resulted in an injured man and a woman being arrested.

The report on the incident involving the injured individual said officers responded to 612 Cherry Ave. regarding a shooting just before 4 a.m. Sunday. Dextra Carter told police he was shot by Ashly Clark, 30, with a pellet gun. The officer observed multiple injuries on Carter, including a silver-colored pellet lodged in the skin in his back.

The report said Carter told officers that Clark called him and told him to come to her residence on the 400 block of South Davis Street to clean her house. Carter found a pack of cigarettes in the freezer. After he was finished, he went to give them to Clark and Clark accused him of stealing the cigarettes from her car. Carter said he found them in the freezer, and at some point later, Clark threatened to get her pellet gun and shoot him.

Carter said he called 911 while he was leaving and hung up. He said dispatch called back and told them he did not have an emergency. When he got to 612 Cherry Ave., he called police again. Paramedics responded and took him to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where medical staff counted 11 pellet wounds on his back, left arm, left shoulder and left torso, the report said.

Clark was in the Dougherty County Jail on Monday on an aggravated assault charge. A spokeswoman at Phoebe said Monday Carter had been discharged.

An incident was reported at 333 S. Mock Road, Apt. 160, at 2:20 a.m. on Friday. A report on the incident said contact was made with a woman who said she was in bed when she heard gunshots. She said she rolled to the floor when she heard the gunfire.

The report said a man with her was awakened by the gunshots. Two shots were fired through a window and went into the ceiling in the room they were in, the report said, and in the next immediate bedroom, three shots went through the window and into the ceiling. Nobody was in the second bedroom, and no one was wounded.

Shell casings were found in a grassy area nearby. There were no suspects immediately known, the report said.

Another incident was reported at 1:45 a.m. on Saturday at 646 Tulsa Lane.

In the Tulsa Lane incident, the report said, a woman said she was in her bed when she heard several shots fired. She immediately checked on the other two occupants of the residence, including a 2-year-old girl, and found nobody to be hurt.

The toddler was on the couch, just below where the bullet struck the window, the report said.

The woman said she went outside and found a hole in the top left window pane on the northern end of the structure, and found a bullet hole in the driver’s door of her vehicle, the report said.

The responding officer found a bullet between two panes of glass, reports said, adding the bullet was not immediately retrievable. Shell casings were located in the area surrounding the residence. Witnesses or suspects were not identified as of the time of the report.
