ALBANY — Ron Massey and his daughter, Star Massey, who is a kindergarten student at Radium Springs Elementary School, participate in “Donuts with Dads.” Sixty-six fathers or other family members turned out for the event, which is designed to highlight the significant role a child’s father or male role model can have in enhancing that child’s educational experience. Principal Bruce Bowles welcomed the fathers and thanked them for their interest and involvement in their children’s education. Guest speakers for the event were Lt. Terron Hayes, director of the crime prevention and intervention unit with the Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office, retired Dougherty County School System coach Jesse Massey and Assistant Principal Natalie Poole. Each speaker stressed the importance fathers have in education and development.
