I had the privilege of attending Mayor Hubbard’s job forum on May 9. The presentation by the five local business leaders was excellent. It is very disappointing, though, that the Dougherty County School System did not have any of its high school students attend. They would have learned valuable lessons about work ethic and reliability.

Pastors: If some of the leading saints in your flocks behaved at church as they do at work, you would have no choice but to put them under immediate church discipline or simply excommunicate them. Time for a sermon series on the fact that Christianity is a 24/7/365 affair. The heathens take notice of these things.

Only in Albany would a candidate accuse a retired, 70-year-old Marine Officer who chainsawed downed trees on others’ properties after the two storms as “self-serving.”

The Democrats are simply using Mueller’s investigation as a tool to try to win the midterm elections. They know there is no collusion but want to keep the investigation alive until after the elections. Voters should not fall for this farce. Vote Republican for the sake of our country.

One thing I noticed at some candidate forums is that some men do not remove their hats and are too casually dressed to be serious representations of leaders. We already have lackluster leadership, and you’re not being elected to organize picnics.

Ken Hodges: As a voter I remember your role in serving Phoebe Putney’s board and not the taxpayers. I will remember that when voting for Ken Shigley. Just think how much money it would have saved the taxpayers of Dougherty County.

Who really profits from this Meals on Wheels worker requirement? The background checking agencies, or the subcontractor supplying the delivery people?

The reason many don’t fear going to hell anymore is because many people don’t believe in God anymore, therefore they believe there is no hell.

Mr. Cagle: You will not get my vote using ridiculous scare tactics. I am not worried about immigrants. I am worried about health care, prescription prices and protecting the environment for my children.

Thank you, Albany Herald, for the stories about all the candidates running for office this year. After reading some of those stories, I’m glad I haven’t voted yet.

It would seem that the leading Republican candidates for governor are trying to outdo each other with their fear-mongering political ads. Their shameful appeal to the most paranoid voters in this state is truly reprehensible. Some parts of the ads would actually be laughable if not for the fact that too many Georgians will consider them to be totally credible.

Squawker says, “We only care about what Trump does now.” Not true. Unlike you Democrats, we never cared what Trump did. We just knew he was a better option than that criminal Hillary.

We must give credit to the man who convinced the Koreans to release our hostages … Dennis Rodman.
