ALBANY — Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler and Dougherty Emergency Medical Services Director Sam Allen will be the featured speakers at a town hall meeting Saturday that will focus on the opioid epidemic that has spread across the country.

Ward I Albany City Commissioner Jon Howard will host the meeting, which will be conducted at the East Albany Community Center at 1721 E. Oglethorpe Blvd.

Howard said a representative of the Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit will also take part in the meeting to provide information about the use of illegal drugs in the community.

“If you are concerned, as I am, about this epidemic, please invite your ministers, business community leaders, friends, neighbors and our youth to this meeting,” Howard said.

Saturday’s meeting is set to start at 10 a.m.
