ALBANY — A shooting Wednesday on Mossydale Lane is now Albany 15th homicide of the year.
Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the Albany Police Department, confirmed in an email Saturday afternoon that the shooting victim, Nicholas Gillison, 35, died Friday. Banks did not have a time of death.
Gillison had been hospitalized in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds since the shooting, which was reported shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday.
A witness who saw Gillison after he had been shot spoke to The Albany Herald and said he had been wounded in the head and chest.
Albany police have not disclosed a motive or whether there are any suspects.
One arrest was made Wednesday on a charge unrelated to the shooting at 127 Mossydale Lane. During the investigation, authorities said they discovered marijuana at the residence. Megan Charris Roquemore, 31, who lives at the address, was charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. She was booked at the Dougherty County Jail and released.
Police say Roquemore and Gillison were acquaintances.
