ALBANY — The 5th annual Lt. Cliff Rouse Memorial Dice Ride is planned for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at American Legion Post 30 at 2916 Gillionville Road.
Each driver will pay $25 to participate in the motorcycle ride, officials say, which includes a t-shirt, ride pin and dice roll. Passengers and additional hands are $5 each. A pancake breakfast is planned from 8 a.m until 10 a.m. with event registration at 9 a.m.
Dougherty County police officials say all proceeds of the ride will benefit the Georgia chapter of Concern Of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.), a national foundation supporting families of fallen law enforcement officers.
Cliff Rouse, an officer of the Dougherty County Police Department, was shot and killed in 2010 while pursuing an armed robbery suspect.
Planners say that following the ride, participants will enjoy food and music at the American Legion where a raffle winner will take home an AR-15 rifle.
