ALBANY — Albany police responded to at least 42 incidents Wednesday into the early hours of Thursday, according to available reports. Police responded to incidents including:

— Simple assault on the 1400 block of Avalon Avenue;

— Theft by taking a bicycle on the 2300 block of Downing Court;

— Theft by taking a pressure washer on the 1700 block of Myrtle Road;

— Urinating in public on the 1700 block of Maple Avenue;

— Recovered property, a blue MGX bicycle, on the 1000 block of Gillionville Road;

— Entering an auto on the 800 block of West Third Street;

— Simple battery on the 1200 block of Van Deman Drive;

— Burglaries on the 700 block of Center Ridge Court, the 2200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and the 2300 block of Dawson Road;

— Assaults (family violence) on the 2000 block of Clark Avenue, the 900 block of Corn Avenue and the 1700 block of South Madison Street;

— Sexual battery, child abuse; occurred in December 2009, reported Wednesday, on the 100 block of South Shadowlawn Drive;

— Domestic disturbances (unfounded) on the 1600 block of Gardner Drive, the 2000 block of Clark Avenue and the 2300 block of Joel Drive.

DOUGHERTY POLICE: Dougherty County Police responded to at least 10 calls Wednesday, according to reports. Police responded to incidents including:

— Motor-vehicle theft of a Chevrolet Grand Voyager van;

— Information on graffiti painted on the road on the 3600 block of Parr Road;

— Harassing phone calls; text messages to a woman on the 600 block of Holly Avenue from an ex-boyfriend;

— Motor-vehicle theft by a relative on the 400 block of Westover Road.

ALBANY FIRE: Albany firefighters responded to nine calls Wednesday including an EMS assist, a trash fire, Albany Police Department assist with a ladder, a grass fire, a vehicle fire, a structure fire, a woods fire and an arcing electric power box.
