EARLY COUNTY BOYS GET EVEN WITH ALBANY:

BLAKELY — Despite getting 19 points from Larry Sanford and 15 more from Tim Pierce, Albany could not pull off the win Saturday and lost to Early, 80-58, one night after almost upsetting state No. 3 Thomasville. The loss dropped Albany to 11-9 overall and 7-4 in the region which coincidentaly ties them with Early for third in the region.

SHERWOOD BOYS 66, FULLINGTON 57:

Gary Holloway led Sherwood with 15 points and Cass Stutz chipped in with 11 more for Sherwood, which finished its regular season with a 20-2 overall record and 8-2 in the region.

With the win Sherwood will enter the region tournament as a No. 2 seed and will face the winner of Westfield and Calvary on Thursday at Darton.

RANDOLPH-CLAY 80 BOYS, CALHOUN 79, OT:

Alkawan Sullivan scored a game-high 20 points, Shaquille Nunnallly followed that up with 18 and Timothy Stringer-Davis added 17 more. But perhaps the biggest performance came from Cardaryle Curry, who finished with just four points.

Why him?

Because Curry converted on the layup that sent the game into overtime, which allowed Randolph to hang on for the one-point win.

Vincent Powell finished with 19 points for Calhoun.

With the win Randolph-Clay (16-9) move into second place behind Terrell County and will enter region play as the No. 2 seed.

LEE GIRLS WIN, BOYS LOSE:

Daquenna Moore had another double-double (24 points, 14 rebounds) and Jessica Clinton added 13 as the Lady Trojans beat Houston on Saturday, 52-47.

The Lee boys, meanwhile, fell hard to Houston, 54-37, despite 12 points from Josh Cabrera and 11 from Tanner Stone. Both teams travel to Bainbridge on Tuesday for a subregion showdown.
