“One consequence of the Ferguson situation may be to discourage good people from seeking a career in law enforcement and may cause good law enforcement people to leave the profession. No doubt it will further embolden criminals to disobey or attack law officers. The negative consequences of what happened in Ferguson may be far reaching.”
