Thunderstorm watch issued for Southwest Georgia

ALBANY — The National Weather Service has  issued a thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m. for southwest and south central Georgia, including metro Albany.

A tornado warning for Dougherty County and parts of Lee and Worth counties expired at 6:30 p.m.

Counties in the watch area include all of metro Albany — Dougherty, Lee, Worth, Baker and Terrell, as well as Mitchell and Calhoun counties.

Also under the watch are Ben Hill, Berrien, Brooks, Colquitt, Cook, decatur, Early, Grady, irwin, Lanier, Lowndes, Miller, Seminole, Thomas, Tift and Turner.
