Trikers to raise funds for St. Jude

ALBANY — Oakcrest Academy at 129 Oakland Parkway is conducting a Trike-A-Thon Friday morning to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Children at the academy ages 2-5 are receiving instruction this week on riding toy safety. To culminate that course, a Trike-A-Thon will be conducted beginning at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
Children will be allowed to bring a riding toy and helmet and put into practice what they have learned.
Spokesperson Anna Massey said parents have been soliciting donations in connection with the event to donate to Saint Jude. Massey said Tuesday the parents had raised $2,010 of the $4,500 goal.
