ALBANY — The Georgia State Patrol was called to investigate a two-car collision at the intersection of North Slappey Boulevard and Ledo Road on Tuesday.

Tooper Daniel Joiner with the GSP said that around 4 p.m. Robert Henderson, 26, was traveling north on North Slappey Boulevard in a 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra when he attempted to make a left turn onto Ledo Road.

The Mustang collied in the intersection with a 1999 Jeep Cherokee that was being driven southward on Slappey Boulevard by Monica Martin, 50, of Leesburg, Joiner said.

According to Joiner, the light at the intersection was a “full green” and did not a turn arrow lighted when the turn was attempted.

Henderson was uninjured in the incident, Joiner said, but Martin was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital with complaints of a swollen right wrist and ankle. Martin’s passenger, Jean Oaks, was out of the vehicle and lying on the roadway when he arrived, Joiner said, but was uninjured.

Henderson is charged with failure to yield while turning left, Joiner said.
