After I met Jay Sharpe, I transferred our family prescriptions to U-Save-It. Jay’s probably best the businessman in Southwest Georgia. His success is his employees’ interaction with people. He’s not a showman, but a great person and businessman. Great article, Albany Herald, keep it up.

My sister smelled smoke, escaped her house with two dogs. On the way out, she met off-duty fireman Luke Powell, who was at her door. Having seen smoke, he stopped and came to her door. Made sure she was out, pets were out, called the fire department. Everybody involved — fire department, police department, emergency crews, neighbors — were fantastic. Thank you to each and every one of the people who help us every day.

I’d like to give a special shout-out to the employees of public works’ grass-cutting division. They cut the grass in East Town subdivision last week. They did a tremendous job on that railroad track. Thanks so much and keep the good work up.

Water, Gas & Light did a good job during the two tornadoes. I still commend them.

We, the neighbors of the 900 bock of West Fifth Avenue, would like to Commissioner B.J. Fletcher for getting our street lights back on. We were without street lights ever since Jan. 2. Someone came one night and went in every car on the street. We called Commissioner B.J. Fletcher and they came and fixed our lights the same day we called her. She was very responsive.
