Former Mayor Coleman advocates for T-SPLOST
By Tommy Coleman
As a former mayor of Albany, I have been a part of many SPLOST referendums in the past and have seen the positive impact that SPLOST projects can have on our community. From recreation facilities, to parks, to government buildings, to improved roads, bridges, and sidewalks, SPLOST referendums have been used for decades to fund needed capital projects that the city and county general funds are not able to accomplish.
Currently, a T-SPLOST referendum for transportation-related capital projects is being voted on in Albany and Dougherty County. Our transportation infrastructure needs dedicated funding from this T-SPLOST in order to repair and improve critical areas where our streets need to be resurfaced, sidewalks should be installed for pedestrian safety and congested intersection improved.
I support this T-SPLOST referendum, and I want to encourage you to vote “Yes” on Tuesday for T-SPLOST.
