I find it ironic the more money we spend on government, the worse it gets.

I’ll be more than happy to give that Eastside squawker a tour of our freshly paved roads (sarcasm). I meant potholed roads on the westside. We can ride at night since all our street lights are all working and shining bright (more sarcasm). You couldn’t see the potholes with all the lights that are not working.

John Hayes will see the change at the ballot box the next time he is is up for re-election. I used to think very highly of Gloria Gaines. I don’t anymore.

Squawker from the eastside saying streets on the westside look brand new is delusional and obviously doesn’t ride on the westside often. Otherwise they would see 90 percent of the streets on the westside are full of potholes. You can’t ride anywhere without dodging a pothole.

Why don’t you change the name of the Albany Herald to the Lee County Herald since Lee County gets all the top billing on the front page as well as the sports page?

As a county employee and county resident, please give McCoy the job. I think he will be a good administrator. Also, county residents, please think about how you vote at the next election. Time for some of the commissioners to GO.

It appears that Dougherty County Commissioner John Hayes’s boorish behavior has infected Commissioners Gaines, Johnson and Jones. All four should never have left middle school.

Squawker, these young individuals marching for gun control have already learned about mouth control from the NRA, Trump and far-right Republicans. You bully people, especially young people who are turning 18, they’re going to fearlessly respond to those cowards.

The fiasco surrounding the naming of the successor to Richard Crowdis is an ominous cloud over Albany’s future. No capable or qualified candidate for county administrator, police chief, city manager, fire chief or superintendent of schools is going to apply and risk their future working for a board of racially prejudiced and generally unqualified people.

Individuals with no common walking sense and definitely no business sense help keep businesses and professionals from moving to Albany. Keep up the backward, ignorant and racial overtones, Commissioners Postell and Hayes. Watch other cities and counties prosper while Dougherty County and Albany continue to be a septic wasteland.
