The GOP and the Dems need to make an effort to work together for the common good. Even porcupines make love.

Albany has become a little Chicago with all the killings and crimes. Counseling and mentoring have only a proven minimal effect. Law enforcement, the DA and judges must triple their efforts with gangs and gang leaders with “shock and awe” to eliminate them from our community and put them in prison, no parole!

I’ve got an idea. How about collecting all that taxpayer money and doubling the amount of police on the street, enforcing curfews, really getting tough on crime in this city? What are the elected officials thinking? And if those elected officials are not to blame for our city problems, then who is?

“Albany” is not what was ranked 7th, its people were. Crime, blight, poverty, unemployment, hungry children are problems caused by people. They can only be fixed by people. It’s us, and not the responsibility of B.J., Roger, Jon or 15-year-old teenagers from Michigan to fix it. Quit complaining and do something yourself.

I ask you, who gives a rip about Katy Perry’s report card that grades her lovers? Good grief!

Albany tearing down schools and Leesburg building upscale new schools. We know who is looking out for our children. Albany still throwing money away trying to build up downtown. Never happen.

Hey, “Happy Camper” lady in the new Land Rover, you need to keep your Republican nose out of other people’s business. She needed that parking space.

Let Carrier move to Mexico. When they try to ship their products back in, they should be taxed so heavily that Americans will not buy them.

Because of Trump, the racists and bigots in this country now are comfortable showing what they really believe. Disgusting.

We had this Darton takeover earlier where they decided to make it part of Albany State, then they shut down Albany High. Then you have the utility raise the rates when old people on fixed incomes can’t make their payments now. Are the leaders in this town liberal Democrats? If the answer is yes, then everything else falls into place.

For Democrats interested in facts, we don’t know the Republican health care plan is a disaster because it hasn’t been finalized. We do know Obamacare was a disaster.

Albany is no more the nice little town it used to be. There are getting to be way too many murders. What we need is a complete reorganizing of the police department from top to bottom with people who know how to help reduce the number of murders.

I believe our “city fathers” sit around and try to dream up ways to waste money. Why do college-age people need a crosswalk to get across the street? My 4-year old great granddaughter know how to cross without getting run over.

Have you noticed the attacks on police officers have virtually stopped since Obama left office?

It’s really a shame that Albany is now listed as one of America’s worst cities along with much larger places like Detroit, St. Louis and Milwaukee. Wake up, city leaders, before it’s too late.
