I agree with Sen. Perdue and the nine about canceling the August break. There should be no breaks until the work is completed. Let’s put our Congress on the same work schedule as other American workers. If they can’t stand their schedule, find another job.
Jim Hendricks, can you send your editorial regarding health care to everyone in the Senate and the House, plus the POTUS? It should be required reading for all elected officials in Washington. Excellent editorial.
City Commissioner Jon Howard said, “We have a problem with guns.” Not exactly true, sir. I prefer to say, “We have a problem with people.” Those people firing the guns need our deepest attention.
Postell says, “Let people know they have to pay the cost to be the boss.” If I was really his boss, he’d be fired immediately. He is not looking out for the people, yet the people keep voting him in.
So, Chief Persley has suggested that to deter crime in Albany gun owners should be responsible with their guns? Please get some help here! Set a curfew, call in the National Guard, use drug dogs, increase staff, patrol the streets — take action to keep our streets and neighborhoods safe.
There were updates about the Pretoria Fields microbrewery, all of the good things going on with Thrush Aircraft, and the article regarding the 40 Under Forty people and the positive impact they’ve made on the community. Overnight, that news is overshadowed by violence. Seems like Albany has so much potential at times, but it’s hard to remain optimistic.
Squawker, I’m offended that you’re offended about people using the N-word. You’ve used it many times in your life. Everybody has.
Insurance companies refusing to pay for life-saving procedures, but offering to pay for assisted suicide. Insurance is now official obsolete. Show ‘em the door.
Creede Hinshaw urges Christine Allen to be more open-minded and tolerate in her treatment of Islam. I would urge Creede Hinshaw not to be so open-minded about Muslims. Whatever little common sense he ever possessed has fallen out of his head.
The president uses social media because that’s the way to get his message to the American people. He cuts out the middle man and interpretation.
As far as my survey goes, we’re the only city raising utility rates in the whole state.
The squawker says because of Trump, the bigots and racists are more comfortable. I’m a Trump support and I’m neither a racist nor a bigot.
To the caller that asked about working for the common good, who is it that held up severed head of our president, who is it that when he was elected rioted in the streets, who is it that has a secret state that has attempted to undermine our president at every turn? In each case, it was a Democrat.
Some folks really need to think before they get a tattoo. Lady, that rose bush you got tattooed on you when you were 30 is going to turn into a weed patch by the time you’re 60.
American people wanted a fighter in a president. This president is a fighter and he’ll fight back.
