If the commissioners and our economic people have accomplished so much this year, why are taxes going up, utilities going up, people leaving Albany and Albany’s voted No. 7 worst in the United States?

I think the city manager needs to get out and start riding some of these streets in Albany. They’re all falling to pieces, potholes all over town. Hilltop is in bad shape.

I saw in the paper where a group of young Christians from Nashville, Tenn., came to Albany to help clean up and make improvements on some people’s properties. I don’t understand why young people in Albany don’t do that. After all, they live here.

Sometimes I just don’t know what I’m thinking.

I’m sure the shooters in Albany sat around a couple of days and went through background checks to get their guns. Or did they just steal ‘em?

When is Gov. Deal going to legalize marijuana in Georgia? Just think of all the tax dollars that could be raised from the sale of marijuana.

Racism is practiced by all races. I don’t care if you are white, black, Hispanic, Asian or Middle Easterner, there are racists among you, so quit accusing Trump followers of racism until you rid yourself of your own racism.

Hey, Donald Trump, I’ll show you my voter registration information when you show me your tax returns.

Even if the Democrats get their way and President Trump is declared mentally unfit, Hillary Clinton still will not be president.

All you hear on the news the last two or three years is lies, lies, lies.

Carlton, you have hit the nail squarely on the head. Your column in Sunday’s paper is the best thing I’ve read on entitlements in a long, long time. This should be passed on to everyone, especially our congressmen and senators.

They’re talking about a rate increase. If the City Commission and light department had any sense, they’d save $1 million a year or more by changing every light in the city to LEDs. When the Lord said brains, they thought he said rain and ran under the porch, hit their heads and haven’t thought straight since.

How could Eddie Tipton possibly have access to winning lottery numbers before they’re drawn unless the lottery is rigged?

Good for Lee County to resurface some streets and roads. I wish Albany would do some of that. Potholes are in profusion here.

I too would like to see Congress skip their August vacation and finish something. However it was 11 Republicans who want to do this so the Democrats will say, “He__ no. We aren’t going to help do anything for this president. We want our recess.”

Twenty-five people shot at a nightclub during a rap concert in Little Rock, Ark. The poster advertising the event was a man pointing a gun at the camera. Enough said!

In New York, a hospital doctor goes on a shooting spree, shooting six people. The world is becoming more crazier every day.

It occurred to me we’re in as much or more danger from ourselves as we are terrorists coming in here. All these murderous rampages going on. We’re in more danger from our own selves.
