I’m 74. I’ve paid property taxes in Dougherty County for 41 years. Got my tax notice for 2017 — $4,607.10; $2,113.82 is for school M&O. Property owners have no chance and no choice. Our leaders do nothing to lower our taxes. You can’t tell me that we would not save money by consolidating governments.

That was a nice article that Kevin wrote on Thanksgiving, but I am afraid that with so many people ungrateful with the great history of America that it may be banned.

Understand that Georgia is the No. 1 place to do business. So, when are our elected officials going to replace the city’s leadership and that of the EDC and Chamber so Albany can get some of the pie?

Why is Georgia No. 1 in business for a fifth straight year, but third in poorest people? Because Albany is ranked in the top 3 on people on welfare, people who don’t want to work and people looking for free handouts.

The Calhoun County sheriff office makes “Barney Fife” seems competent.

Darton who? It’s Albany State University now. Can you people just accept this and move on?

Removing the plaque from the church in Virginia that Washington attended is a new low. It is history, people. Whatever happened to “agree to disagree”? If we are going to start removing plaques, monuments, statues, etc. because someone is offended, then we need to remove them all.

A terrorist used a truck to deliberately run into a crowd, killing eight people. Need to look at banning trucks and sue the auto industry for making these killer vehicles.

I guess the World Series doesn’t exist for one TV station in Albany.

For the squawker who trusts Donald Trump more than any other president, would you trust Donald Trump with your money, or around your wife or your daughter? I don’t think so.
