The Albany area has some of the highest concentration of veterans since the branches of the Army, Navy, Air Force and, currently, Marines served here. Unfortunately, none of the Ward II candidates addressed what they would do or could do for our veterans.

Carlton, can you tell me what law that the NRA opposes that would have prevented the Las Vegas incident? Be specific.

Trump has done more in less than a year than every president together has done since Reagan. He would have done more if the liberals in both parties would lead, follow or get out of the way, but that’s not going to happen.

Judges in Worth County need to understand opiate addiction is a medical disease and should be treated as such. Y’all need to implement programs to help people.

The eighth thing you need to know about the state fair — bring money, lots of it.

Well, if guns kill, then we need to add knives, rope, poison, axes, drugs, cellphones, social media, Facebook, motor vehicles, airplanes, bombs, about 50 other objects that could be used to kill. The main culprit is the human element. No gun in the world can kill unless someone pulls the trigger.

So, your argument is that feral cats are God’s creatures? News flash — so are rats, fire ants, rattlesnakes, skunks, foxes, armadillos and other destructive creatures. Living in the country, I am often visited by them. I don’t feed them, but I do control them and will continue to do so.

Fifty-nine people were killed in Chicago in September, but the media doesn’t even mention that it happened. I guess their attitude is, “Move along; nothing to see here.”

Why can’t we have a sign that indicates Darton Campus of ASU?

Carlton Fletcher, maybe you need to write an article about all the gun laws in Chicago keeping everybody safe there.

To the guy that wants to buy me a ticket to North Korea, meet me at the airport Friday morning. I’ll be the one holding a sign saying, “So long, sucker.”

I am protesting the NFL for their actions. My protests are not going to change anything. Their protests are not going to change anything. It just shows the character of the people doing that.

Now the Democrats are saying it’s a waste of money for Pence to walk out of the stadium in protest of the protest. How much less would it have cost for Pence to stay the entire game? Nada.

I just want to say “The Voice” has hit rock bottom. I don’t know how Adam Levine and Blake Shelton could possibly put themselves in that position staying on that program.

Trump is dividing this country along racial lines and social differences. What a fantastic Christian.

I’d just like to say thank God for Bob Corker standing up to gutless Trump. Trump’s all mouth.

Albany Herald, Today in History: Chicago fire in 1871 leaves 100,000 homeless, 300 dead. Lay you odds Congress back then didn’t spend the next 12 weeks debating whether they ought to ban the sale of matches.

I guess I’ll never understand why a humanist has no problem murdering the unborn.
