One hundred years ago, everyone owned a horse and only the rich had cars. Today, everyone has cars and only the rich own horses.
A friend who has lived in Albany and similar sized towns says Albany has more outstanding and unique amenities than any other similar-sized place he has lived. He mentioned the Flint RiverQuarium, Imagination Theater, Planetarium, Chehaw Park and Zoo, and others, and that Albany is a good place to live and raise a family despite flaws that exist everywhere else.
Hmm … the Corps of Engineers diverted water from the reservoir in Houston. Where are Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton?
One difference between Antifa and the KKK — one wears white and cover their faces and one wears black and cover their faces. Both spew hate , but Antifa resolves to violence in order to get their way. At least members of the KKK work for a living and Antifa live off of the government that they are destroying.
Fleming Road in front of the Marine base was recently widened from two lanes to three lanes. If you’re traveling east or west, the solid yellow line is always on your side, which means you can’t pass. So why do we have this third lane in the middle?
If we ever get a Republican controlled Congress, we will be able to pass health care and tax reform.
Not sure what Squawkbox the squawker is reading, but no one said anything about Obama playing golf during the Katrina hurricane flooding. The squawk was about Obama playing golf at the Louisiana flooding. Pay attention.
I wish The Albany Herald would quit putting Eugene Robinson’s articles in the paper. He’s nothing but a liberal Democrat hater and a racist.
Trump campaigned that Mexico would pay for the wall. Now, he wants American taxpayers to pay for it or he’ll shut the government down. Another lie.
President Trump promised new jobs. He has created many — he has given all the crazies and the stupids something to gripe about.
To the squawker who planted Confederate jasmine and wondered about planting kudzu, you’re the reason our country’s like it is now. Stop hating.
It’s amazing to see how resilient the people of Texas are. They helped each other, they’ve done searches and now they’re on the repair side. They could’ve just gone and got in a football stadium and cried, “The government ain’t helping me!”
Brownie did the best job he could working with a governor and mayor who didn’t know “come here” from “sic ‘em.”
I’m not the only one disgusted with the running of the city of Albany. All we have running this city are empty suits wearing name tags. I live in Northwest Albany and I have called Code Enforcement several times about dilapidated property. It’s gotten worse. I called my ward commissioner twice and got the impression I was interrupting her lunch break.
If you’re going to put speed bumps in a neighborhood, at least use common sense when placing them. On Meadowlark you have five in a one-block area. On the other end of Meadowlark, you have Lake Park School, kids running everywhere and there are zero. Missed the boat on that one.
