ALBANY — Sherwood Christian senior Alex Harris poured in 38 points and came close to outscoring the entire opposing team as the Sherwood Christian Eagles slammed Grace Christian 64-39 Saturday afternoon in Albany.
The Lady Eagles also won big in the days first game with a 49-22 victory over the Lady Cougars.
Grace Christian took the opening tipoff and rushed out to a 7-2 lead before the Sherwood boys could get going, but once Harris found his groove, the Eagles blew past the Cougars quickly. After trailing 7-2 early, the Eagles scored the final 11 points of the first quarter to lead 13-7 going into the second and were up 28-15 just before the half when Harris stole a pass and slammed in two points. The Eagles led 33-18 at the half and stretched that lead to 52-27 after three.
Harris’ 38 was the only Eagle in double figures but Peter Kendrick was close with nine points.
The Lady Eagles of Sherwood Christian improved their season record to 4-0 Saturday with the win over Grace. The Lady Eagles led 23-7 at the half and were never threatened.
Sarah Federick dominated inside with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Point guard Julie Kendrick scored 14 points while Chloe Odom pulled down 16 rebounds and Aziah Harrison doled nine assists.
