Georgia Tech women’s basketball coach MaChelle Joseph placed on leave for personnel matter

Georgia Tech announced Wednesday morning that MaChelle Joseph, the school’s career leader in victories for a head women’s basketball coach, has been placed on leave, effective immediately.
Tech called it a pending personnel matter, and declined additional comment at this time.
Assistant coach Mark Simons will serve as acting head coach for the Yellow Jackets’ Thursday game at Miami (Fla.).
Joseph, in her 16th season at Tech, has 310 career wins, the most in school history. She has taken 11 teams to the NCAA Tournament, including the first Sweet 16 trip in school history in 2012.
