After trailing at the end of the first quarter, the Dream used an 11-2 run in the second frame to take a six-point lead. The surge was highlighted by Reese knocking down a 3-pointer from the left wing and was capped off by Howard connecting on a pair of technical free throws after Aces coach Becky Hammon was ejected.

With the Dream leading by four midway through the second quarter, Hammon drew a technical foul while arguing with referees about a missed foul committed against Wilson. After receiving the technical, Hammon charged toward officials and had to be held back by her staff and was then given a second technical foul and ejected from the game. It was her first ejection since June 2024.

Atlanta then went on an 8-2 run after Hammon’s ejection to push their lead to 12. The Aces came within six with less two minutes left in the game, but never threatened to tie it up. The Dream then closed the game on a 9-0 run.

The Dream had 15 steals and scored 18 points off 17 Aces turnovers.
