ALBANY — A trio of Westover High School boys basketball players were named to the Region 1-AAAA All-Region team. Daniel Melvin of Carver-Columbus was named the boys region player of the year.
Junior Kris Gardner was named to the first team, sophomore Jordan Brown was named to the second team, while Jamarea Grier was named to the third team.
The Patriots are playing Sandy Creek Thursday night in the second round of the Class AAAA state tournament.
The girls team hasn’t been released.
