Why, when Jesus talks about feeding the poor, it’s Christianity, but when a politician does it, it’s Socialism? My answer: Because the people who call it Socialism aren’t really Christians. They love everything about their version of Christianity except the teachings of Jesus. Their so-called Christianity has another name: hypocrisy. That Man Without a Family

Instead of deporting hard-working immigrants, why not empty the prisons of convicted felons and deport them to the Sudan and other war zones. The felons are takers; the immigrants are givers.

A shout-out to Miss Edna at the Dougherty County Tag Office. I know many folks dread the thought of having to deal with the tag office. Miss Edna was a delightful engagement while assisting my requests. Thank you again.

Dougherty County creates an “office of crime prevention” to give money to nonprofits that are working to fight crime? Other than locking their doors at night, how are nonprofits fighting crime? This is another opportunity for the four crooked members of the commission to give taxpayer money to their friends, churches and relatives.

Every day another Trump or Republican atrocity and attack on the norms of this country. Is this really what we want or voted for? I can only imagine this to be like a bad marriage in which every day you wake to the same problems and stress. At least in that case, you can get quick relief by just leaving. How do we get relief from this constant barrage of lunacy?

Is a vapid actress doing a jeans commercial a big enough deal for the president of this country and other top officials to weigh in on? If it is, we might as well pack up and head for the hills.

Thank you, Joe Whitfield, for giving us stories leading up to the football season. It’s good to see our local paper focusing on local sports and recognizing our students again.

Lots of work needs to be done at our RiverQuarium. I was there recently and was very disappointed: Activities for kids are not working, letter missing above exhibit, aviary has only four birds, butterfly garden contained mostly weeds,. It definitely could use some sprucing/cleaning up.

When did it become the schools’ task to feed the children? The family should be responsible for feeding them. Aren’t EBT amounts based on feeding the children?

Who is it that is re-segregating Dougherty County Schools? It’s the descendants of the people who had condoned and enforced segregation prior. Using the same old tropes to justify what they are doing and having it supported by the state and federal funding. But some kids, if they are good enough ball players, can go to “those” other schools with their newly acquired vouchers and NIL money.

New OCP: There’s nothing like an “office,” a title, a board and a TV shot to prevent crime. Oh, notwithstanding a consultant, a government grant, a politician and a preacher. There’s a country song in there somewhere; Ray Stevens would be perfect. I’m humming the tune and sleeping better just thinking about it.
