They get elected by people who don’t vote, not by the few who do.

I love, love, love Tara Fletcher’s idea of building the rock snake. It’s something fun for kids (of all ages … I plan to add some to her collection), and it has the chance of being something positive for the community. While the Dougherty County Commission is blowing the county up with its tax increases and money give-away, she at least is trying to do something positive.

Some Albany drivers amaze me. This morning on Whispering Pines, I was driving at the speed limit. Car comes up behind me, passes me, speeds on up the street, overtakes another car, passes it with just barely enough room to avoid oncoming traffic. The driver comes up behind a third car at the red stoplight at Slappey. Instead of waiting for the light to change, the driver cuts through the parking lot of the gas station on the corner. I bet if you ask this person, they would rate themselves a great driver.

Elect a preacher with zero management experience, and guess what? Your taxes go up faster than Sunday morning offering numbers.

Where is that “virtual civil rights tour” the county gave their buddy $195,000 to create? Another example of the county pi–ing away our tax money. There should be an accounting. If these clowns can’t account for this money, they should face charges.

You would think as many times as our coroner has testified in court that he would have known what to say and what to not say when called to testify in the local murder trial that may have to be declared a mistrial … at more cost to the taxpayers of Dougherty County.
