Imagine, if you will, a country where 1% control almost all of the wealth and power and the other 99% are so brainwashed that they fight each other vigorously to keep it that way.

Our City Commissioners’ recent decisions are as suspect as ever. They have chosen to work with a developer called Look Again, which seems to have no completed projects or experience, and even no mailing address or email address listed online. This follows rejection of IDP based in downtown Valdosta, which has completed dozens of projects in Macon, Pelham and Athens. This again feels like someone is trying to put money in a friend’s pocket.

Unfortunately, there are no lifeguards in the gene pool.

You want to know why Heard and his minions are pushing for a downtown project that they have no business wasting money the county doesn’t have on? Check out the principles of this rogue “developer” that’s trying to get that taxpayer money. You’ll find some very familiar names … including, reportedly, some of the people voting.

Why did the city agree with whomever is building the new retirement home at Old Dawson and North Point? Old Dawson is still a two-lane road, very dangerous and crowded. I thought new homes were needed in the eastside and southside. Why do people want to keep building on a two-lane road? And North Point already has many affordable retirement communities.

I totally agree with the Squawker who said that the majority of people who voted for Trump were voting against the ridiculous policies of Biden and the Democrats.

Hey, Trump protest voter, thanks to you, gas is up, inflation is up, we won’t be able to get a vaccine, we’ll lose our health insurance soon.  Going to have to take grandma out of the nursing home soon. Be proud of that protest vote.

It was tragic reading Tanya’s story in Ukraine and knowing that our president fears the man responsible.

Where, oh where, is that $195,000, taxpayer-funded virtual tour that King is so obviously working hard to finish? I guess we’ll all have to just be patient so that we can visit this site and justify the spending of all our hard-earned dollars.

Thank God the old Cracker Barrel logo has been restored. Kudos to all the God-fearing citizens who risked their lives by demanding an unnecessary change to an unnecessary change. The world is now safer for all of us. The Man Without a Family

For those states wanting to cash in on the detention camp craze, it is going to cost the state of Florida $245 million to dismantle the so-called Alligator Alcatraz. Kansas is next up with their version the “Kansas Klink.”  I guess the names Auschwitz, Dachau and Buchenwald were already used, so the Trump administration had to come up with something different to distract from their final solution policy.

Michael Ferguson brags about being a proud graduate of Monroe High School. After his last two columns in the Herald, I surely believe him.

Before the Internet, people thought that stupidity was caused by lack of access to information. It wasn’t that.

Democrat logic: With 54 people shot and seven killed in Chicago over the Labor Day weekend, Illinois Gov. Pritzker issues instructions for local law enforcement agencies not to help the feds clean up the city. Lunacy.

Before visiting sick people or persons who’ve had deaths in their family, please make sure you have a babysitter. If you do not, please stay home. Nobody wants a circus at their house.

Erica Henderson certainly is someone to emulate in southwest Georgia. I enjoyed reading her story, even if parts of it were misplaced. Not good editing.

Fast food’s disguising packaging to normalize drastically reduced portions and increasing prices is one thing, but the diminishing quality is pervasive and unacceptable. Burnt ribs and pot-bottom BBQ beans, chicken strips that are super-salted bites with teriyaki over burnt wings, and that is not real hamburger sloppily hanging outside the bun. Employees have no reason beyond mediocrity.

A federal judge appointed by Obama tells President Trump the use of the National Guard in L.A. is illegal. Why doesn’t this judge tell demonstrators it is illegal to  interfere with federal ICE agents?

With the errors – whether intentional or not – made by Ferguson on his latest column, I’d hope that The Herald would curtail his contributions.

I was left feeling sad and angry after reading about Tanya and the loss of her husband during the war in Ukraine. His murderer, Putin, is the one that your president loves so much and wants to be like. Sickening.
