Rock Hall of Famers The Platters to perform at Theatre Albany

ALBANY — From 1950-55, The Platters were the most popular vocal group in the music business, recording just under 400 songs, selling more than 89 million records and receiving 230 awards that later helped them to be inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame.
Fans of the classic soul, rock and pop of that era will get to relish precious musical memories at Theatre Albany Aug. 20 when original Platter Eddie Stoval and his “hand-picked partners” perform in a 2 p.m. matinee.
The award-winning sound of The Platters” features classic hit songs like “Only You,” “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes,” “The Great Pretender” and many more performed by Stovall and his crew.
The afternoon is sure to be filled with magic moments and visions of yesteryear as fans enjoy “The Golden Sounds of the Platters.”
