LIVE LIKE A STAR: Braves Hall of Famer Tom Glavine selling estate on Chattahoochee for $6.75 million
Tom Glavine, the former Atlanta Braves All-Star, Hall of Famer, two-time Cy Young winner and World Series MVP is selling his Alpharetta estate along the Chattahoochee River for $6.75 million.
Located in the Country Club of the South, the eight bedroom and 12 bathroom house is 16,132 square-feet.
Glavine told the Wall Street Journal that he is selling the home because it is “too big” for his family. According to reports, three of Glavine’s children have moved out, one is heading to college in the fall and another is a rising fourth grader.
Dubbed “Field of Dreams,” the home was built in 2008 and boasts “old-world design and exquisite finishes and designer details,” according to the listing.
The great room features a two-story cathedral ceiling with a large iron chandelier. The gourmet chef’s kitchen has high end commercial-grade appliances, stone accents and hand-hewn trusses.
Other features include terrace with billiard room, wine cellar, exercise room, basketball court, and, of course, a baseball field (and an indoor pitching/batting cage).
