Friday 7 p.m. update: Georgia Department of Health releases latest coronavirus cases and death figures

Georgia health officials have received 238 new reports of the COVID-19 coronavirus disease and 18 additional reports of deaths from it since Friday at noon, according to new data from the Georgia Department of Public Health released Friday evening.
There have now been 17,432 COVID-19 cases and 668 deaths in Georgia, according to numbers released at 7 p.m. Thursday. The deaths account for 3.83% of all cases seen in the state.
There have also been 3,395 people hospitalized as a result of the disease. That accounts for 19.48% of all cases seen in the state so far.
The state has not released county-by-county breakdown of hospitalizations. It also has not released numbers on how many people who contracted COVID-19 have since recovered from it.
People ages 18 to 59 account for 61% of the cases, followed by people ages 60 and older (34%) and newborns to 17-year-olds (1%). The ages of patients in 4% of cases is unknown.
Women make up 54% of cases seen in the state while men make up another 44%. The gender of patients in 2% of cases is unknown.
Fulton County continues to have the largest number of cases, with 2,037 cases and 74 deaths. Among the five counties with the highest case totals, Fulton is followed by
• Dougherty County (1,385 cases, 91 deaths)
• DeKalb County (1,366 cases, 23 deaths)
• Cobb County (1,085 cases, 51 deaths)
• Gwinnett County (1,037 cases, 36 deaths)
