Georgia, MSU face off in one heck of a crossroads game
Georgia players sat dejected on the bench together last season during a 24-12 loss to Mississippi State — a scene the Bulldogs plan on avoiding today when the two teams meet again, only this time in Athens, where MSU hasn’t won in since 1956.

ATHENS — One year ago, Mississippi State’s win against Georgia was a turning point in each team’s season.
The Southeastern Conference’s two teams with Bulldog nicknames face a similar crossroads game today.
Georgia is attempting to recover from an 0-2 start that included a home loss to SEC East rival South Carolina, and is looking for its third straight win. Mississippi State, meanwhile, is coming off a shaky offensive showing in an overtime win against Louisiana Tech, and will try for its first SEC win after two straights losses and its first win in Athens in more than 50 years.
The losing team will have little hope of being a factor in the SEC. The winner will have renewed hope of contending.
