ALBANY — Two Albany residents were victims in an armed home invasion Tuesday, police officials say.

Roosevelt Fenny and Catherine Sanders told officers of the Albany Police Department they were sitting in their living room on the 900 block of West Tift Avenue when shortly before 5 p.m. an unidentified black male kicked in their door.

According to Fenny, the assailant pointed a gun in his direction and demanded his wallet. When the victim refused to hand over the wallet, the gunman fired a shot but missed.

According to Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the APD, after firing another shot toward Sanders, which also missed, the gunman fled on foot.

The suspect is described as wearing dark pants with a white shirt wrapped around his face. Anyone with information concerning the home invasion is asked to call the Albany Police Department at (229) 431-2100 or Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS (8477).
