ALBANY — Several entering autos, a motor vehicle theft and a burglary were among the incidents the Albany Police Department responded to on Monday evening and into the early hours of Tuesday.

Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the APD, said an entering auto was reported on the 1800 block of Pineknoll Lane shortly before 6 p.m., where the owners of a white 2013 Ford Edge said their vehicle had been entered into through the driver side door — through unforced entry — between 11 p.m. on Monday at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

The owner said the user manual containing the door lock code was taken.

Banks said a motor vehicle theft was reported from the 2300 block of West Gordon Avenue at around 6:45 p.m. on Monday. The victim said that, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., his blue 1984 Porsche 928S — that was unlocked — was stolen while he was at work.

Banks said a burglary was reported on the first block of Dobbs Drive shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Monday that is thought to have taken place between 8:30 p.m. on Sunday and 7:20 p.m. on Monday. The residence was accessed by unforced entry, and the items taken were a 32-inch black TV and a money order.

Banks said another entering auto was reported at the 200 block of Lexington Road at around 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday. The victim said a wallet with identification and three basketballs in his gray 2005 Nissan Altima were taken by unforced entry no more than 15 minutes earlier.

There are no suspects or witnesses to these incidents, Banks said.

Banks said motor vehicle thefts are not isolated to one part of the city. The APD is suggesting the following prevention tips to reduce the chances of being a victim of motor vehicle thefts:

— Never leave a vehicle running and unoccupied, even for a couple of minutes;

— Never leave keys in the vehicle for any reason when it is unoccupied;

— Always lock doors and make sure to have the keys in hand when exiting the vehicle;

— Park in well-lit areas at night to make the vehicle less vulnerable to theft.

— Install an anti-theft alarm system to the vehicle if possible.

Those who see suspicious activity in their area are asked to call (229) 431-2132.
