By Staff Reports
AMERICUS — The Boys and Girls Club of Americus/Sumter County, Inc. has announced its upcoming 18th annual Steak & Stake Charity Fundraiser that is set for July 19 at the Georgia Southwestern State University Success Center Storm Dome.
Club officials said the event will include a 5:30 p.m. silent auction, a dinner at 6 p.m. and a program immediately following. Performances by Wintley Phipps, Trinidad native and founder and CEO of U.S. Dream Academy, and the club’s youth will also participate in the program.
Shirley Green-Reese, president of the Boys and Girls Club of Americus/Sumter County, said its children are counting on the community’s presence — and sponsorship support — at the event in order for the organization to maintain operations.
“Your support is needed in the areas of ticket purchases, corporate sponsorship and/or a donation of items for our silent auction,” she said in a letter to supporters last week. “Your contribution will make a tremendous difference in a child’s life by affording the Boys and Girls Club of Americus/Sumter County the means to continue and expand our services. Our mission is to empower youth by creating opportunities in a positive environment.”
Individual tickets are on sale for $75 and corporate sponsorship levels are available at the Titanium level for $5,000, Platinum at $3,000-$4,000, Gold level for $2,000, Silver at $1,500 and Bronze at $1,000.
The top level includes four tables and eight tickets for the pre-event reception with Phipps, former President Jimmy Carter and former first lady Rosalynn Carter. The Plantinum offers includes three-tables and eight tickets to the reception.
The Gold level includes three tables and four tickets for the pre-event reception with Phipps and the Carters. Silver sponsorship provides two tables and two tickets to the pre-event reception, while Bronze has one table and one ticket to the reception.
