ALBANY — Mt. Zion Baptist Church will host an Albany Benefit Relief Concert tomorrow. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted during the event.
Doors open at 5:45 p.m. with the concert by John P. Kee and New Life set to begin at 6:30 p.m.
“We won’t be charging admission, but we will accept donations of food, toiletries, toilet paper and paper towels to be distributed to storm victims,” event organizer Bishop D.G. Taylor said. “Basically, we will take anything that can be used that will help people affected by the storms.”
The event will feature inspirational speakers from Albany churches and Albany Mayor Dorothy Hubbard.
“The event is a joint effort for community leaders to come together after the workers and tree cutters and all the people who have come in from other places have gone,” Taylor said. “We want to keep doing something to help our community to bring it back and help restore it again.”
Mt. Zion Baptist Church is located at 901 S. Westover Blvd.
