ALBANY – Every year, nearly 4 million young people are served by Boys and Girls Clubs. To celebrate these extraordinary efforts, Ross Stores Inc. announced that it is partnering with Boys and Girls Clubs of America with a four-week program called “Help Local Kids Learn.”

Customers in Albany can make a monetary contribution at their local Ross Dress for Less location during checkout to be donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany this February. The program started Sunday.

“We are proud to support the Boys and Girls Clubs of America during our annual campaign in February,” Gary Cribb, executive vice president for store operations and loss prevention for Ross Stores Inc., said. “We invite our Ross customers to join us in donating to the clubs and helping youths develop the skills they need to have a bright future.”

Boys and Girls Clubs of Albany CEO Marvin Laster lauded the partnership.

“We are extremely excited to be partnering again this year with our local Ross Store, located at 2800 Dawson Road,” Laster said. “Ross Stores just informed us they will match each local store donation, up to $400,000. That means with your support here in Albany we can double, even triple, our donations from last year.”

Campaign facts:

• Ross Stores Inc. invites customers to give at the register during the month of February to benefit Boys and Girls Clubs of America;

• 100 percent of proceeds raised at each store will benefit local Boys and Girls Clubs;

— Every $3 donation helps provide one hour of homework help for a club youth;

• $15 helps keep a kid safe after school.
