Search still on for Albany bank robbers
Authorities continue to ask for public’s help in locating getaway car

ALBANY — No arrests were reported Saturday in the robberies of a pair of Albany financial institutions this week.
No injuries were reported in either holdup.
The FBI Atlanta office had images of the car and bandit that hit the People’s Bank at 701 N. Westover Blvd. in Albany late Friday morning, asking anyone who spotted the 2000 to mid-2000s white Chevrolet Impala with a horseshoe decal in its back window to contact the office.
In that case, a black male about 6 feet tall entered the bank and gave the teller s note demanding money. He was wearing a green t-shirt and a green Army cap. Authorities did not know whether the bandit, who left with an undisclosed amount of money in a case, was armed.
That came on the heels of a noon hour Wednesday robbery of the DOCO Credit Union at 2101 Rosebrier Ave. In that robbery, an unidentified black male wearing a dark U.S. Air Force cap, green t-shirt and khaki pants entered the credit union and handed the teller a note demanding money. The robber claimed in his note that he was armed with a gun.
He was wearing a light-colored bracelet on his left wrist, a dark-colored watch on his right wrist and white tennis shoes. That bandit left on foot and was last seen in the park area behind the Tallulah branch of the public library.
A spokesman for the FBI office in Atlanta said Friday that investigators did not believe the two holdups were related.
Authorities are asking anyone who recognizes either of the individual or the vehicle used by the second robber to contact the APD or the FBI Atlanta field office at (404) 679-9000.
