SYLVESTER — Worth County Fire/Rescue EMA was dispatched Thursday morning to the intersection of Highway 33 North and Rocky Mount Church Road in regards to an accident involving a small SUV and a semi truck, according to county officials.

Reports indicate the accident occurred around 10:53 a.m.

“Upon arrival, WCFR terminated the engine of the SUV and handled fluids from that vehicle that spilled into the roadway,” Public Information Officer Jennifer Sheler said. “Grady EMS transported one patient to Crisp Regional (Hospital).”

According to Sheler, two children were in the SUV, but they were properly restrained and did not suffer any observable injuries.

“In the SUV were two small children,” she said. “Proper use and placement of the child safety seats contributed to those two children not sustaining any visible injuries. Both children were taken by family members to the hospital to be evaluated.”

Sheler said command of the accident scene was turned over to the Georgia State Patrol, and no further information was then available about the occupants or the cause of the accident.
