Saturday noon update: Georgia Department of Health releases latest coronavirus cases and death figures

Georgia health officials have received 237 new reports of the COVID-19 coronavirus disease and five additional reports of deaths from it since Friday at 7 p.m., according to new data from the Georgia Department of Public Health released Saturday at noon.
There have now been 17,669 COVID-19 cases and 673 deaths in Georgia, according to numbers released at noon Saturday. The deaths account for 3.81% of all cases seen in the state.
There have also been 3,420 people hospitalized as a result of the disease. That accounts for 19.36% of all cases seen in the state so far.
The state has not released county-by-county breakdown of hospitalizations. It also has not released numbers on how many people who contracted COVID-19 have since recovered from it.
People ages 18 to 59 account for 61% of the cases, followed by people ages 60 and older (34%) and newborns to 17-year-olds (1%). The ages of patients in 4% of cases is unknown.
Women make up 54% of cases seen in the state while men make up another 44%. The gender of patients in 2% of cases is unknown.
Fulton County continues to have the largest number of cases, with 2,054 cases and 74 deaths. Among the five counties with the highest case totals, Fulton is followed by
• Dougherty County (1,406 cases, 91 deaths)
• DeKalb County (1,396 cases, 24 deaths)
• Cobb County (1,100 cases, 51 deaths)
• Gwinnett County (1,050 cases, 36 deaths)
