In addition to the printed humor on the card, my son, a top executive in his company, wrote to me, “Thank you for everything! I wouldn’t be where I am without your guidance and support.” To me, this is the best gift on Father’s Day — far more precious than any material gift.

Thank you, Cary Sell, for your letter to the editor in regards to the closing of Albany High School. It was spot on. I am a graduate of both Albany High and AJC (Darton College), two great schools closed by the politicians that have taken control. We are witnessing a slow death of the wonderful town we grew up in, all but dead and gone. Sad!

Ungrateful dad, you’ve got your family. What more do you need?

Traveling down Gillionville Friday about 9 p.m. a truck was spraying for bugs, but they were spraying the highway not the roadside. Wasted time, wasted spray, wasted money. Another of Albany’s great waste. We need new leaders from the top down. Our streets are like washboards with pot holes to dodge.

If Trump would produce fish and loaves and feed the masses, John McCain would still criticize him.

The circus left the White House six months ago and that is one circus I don’t miss.

Tell you how government can save tons of taxpayer dollars. Lay off one-third of state employees and one-half of federal employees, then order the remaining to start working at the rate of free-enterprise workers to take up the slack.

Well, I won’t be going to the Roger Waters concert in Atlanta. I pay money to hear a musical concert, not to see half his show trash-talking Trump. Politics is destroying entertainment.

Allowing the AHS seniors to choose which of the remaining three high schools they wish to attend is only a conciliatory gesture by the School Board, and a poor gesture at that. The board’s main intent is to somehow pacify those objecting to the AHS closure and to smooth their tempers.

Every morning, you know, when I collect, you know, The Herald, I enjoy, you know, reading the various news reports, you know, and viewing the colorful, you know, pictures, along with the always, you know, various squawks, you know, all of which are informative of different viewpoints, you know. The virus has gone pandemic!

The DCSS Board of Education did not consider the ramifications of their decision to close AHS, or considered them to be of no consequence. The board’s rationale shows little justification for the school’s closure and its members are obstinately adhering to their decision in spite of reason, argument, or persuasion.

I’m glad to see the government finally asked the Media, Obama, Hilary, Maxine Waters and Comey to stop the hate speeches. It’s only causes people to go nuts. Stop the hate and let’s work to get our country back and bring God back as well.

I hope the people that held those escapees at gunpoint were able to get the reward.

If you think people will visit the Albany Museum of Art if it relocates downtown, you’re sadly mistaken.

We’ve reached the 45th anniversary of Watergate. History is repeating itself.
